About

Xavier Thévenard is a French elite ultrarunner born on March 6, 1988, in Nantua, in the Ain department of eastern France, who grew up in the ski resort of Les Plans d'Hotonnes and built his athletic foundation as a cross-country skier and biathlete before turning to trail running. Affectionately known in the sport as 'Le Petit Prince,' he won the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc three times — in 2013, 2015, and 2018 — and stands as the only athlete ever to have won all four of the major UTMB World Series races centred on Chamonix: UTMB, CCC, TDS, and OCC. He added the Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji title in 2019, completing a palmares that places him among the greatest ultra-trail runners of his generation.
