He built his résumé steadily across 100-mile and multi-day ultra formats before a breakthrough 2025 season: wins at Bandera 100k and Way Too Cool 50k, second at the Black Canyon 100k — and then, despite suffering a first episode of atrial fibrillation just three weeks before the race and a broken ankle in the days that followed, forcing a withdrawal from the Western States 100 he had targeted — returning in autumn to win the Javelina Jundred 100 Mile in Fountain Hills, Arizona in a course record of 12:10:12, erasing more than thirty minutes from the previous mark with the top three finishers all breaking the old record in a field of exceptional depth.
