About
Vincent Bouillard (born 26 July 1993) is a French trail and ultrarunner from Annecy who delivered one of the most extraordinary upsets in the sport's history — winning the 2024 UTMB Mont-Blanc unsponsored, on his first attempt, and in only his second 100-mile start. Growing up in the French Alps, Bouillard pursued a dual life as a competitive mountain runner and a footwear engineer, working full-time as a senior product engineering manager at HOKA, where he was responsible for sourcing and testing foam midsole technology — including the Peba-based foam used in the Hoka Tecton X 3. He broke into 100-mile racing in 2023 with a win at the HOKA Kodiak by UTMB in Southern California, and a year later entered UTMB with that single 100-mile win as his entire CV. He finished in 19:54:23 — the third-fastest time in the race's history — making him the first unsponsored winner in 20 years and immediately one of the sport's most compelling new figures. He lives in Annecy with his wife Kamilah, whom he met at UTMB in 2017, and trains on the same mountain terrain as fellow Annecy resident Jim Walmsley, who was among his most vocal admirers. Named #3 in the 2024 Worldwide UltraRunner of the Year standings and now racing professionally, Bouillard has since won the Chianti Ultra-Trail by UTMB in 2025 and continues to build one of ultrarunning's most intriguing careers.
