About
Uxue Fraile Azpeitia is a Spanish ultrarunner born on April 19, 1974, in San Sebastián, in the Basque Country. A lifelong athlete with a track background, she rose to become one of Europe's most consistent ultra-trail performers in the 2010s, reaching her peak with a remarkable 2015 season in which she won the Ultra-Trail Mt. Fuji (UTMF, 105 miles) and finished second at UTMB Mont-Blanc — two of the sport's most prestigious races within months of each other. She added a third-place finish at UTMB 2016 before a serious knee injury from skiing sidelined her; she returned from surgery to claim second at UTMB 2018, demonstrating the resilience that defines her long career as a Vibram team athlete.
