A 38-year-old father of two from Hamilton, New Zealand, Cochrane is one of the most endurance-diverse athletes on the trail running circuit. He has completed 37 Ironman triathlons and holds course records at Ultraman events in Australia, Canada, and Hawaii — a discipline covering 515km over three days. His wife Larisa has completed 11 Ironmans. He runs the coaching business athleticpeak.co.nz and is sponsored by CurraNZ. At Tarawera, the 100-mile flagship race in the Bay of Plenty, he finished 2nd in 2025 (15:33:45) and returned to win the 2026 edition (16:26:17). He is also the Blue Lake 24-hour champion, reflecting his preference for sustained efforts over long, rolling terrain.
