Scott Hawker (also known as Scott Hawker) is New Zealand's most accomplished trail and ultrarunner and one of the Southern Hemisphere's most significant figures in the global mountain ultra scene. A multiple-time winner of the Tarawera Ultra by UTMB — the iconic 100-mile race traversing the volcanic terrain of the Rotorua Lakes region in New Zealand's North Island, now part of the global UTMB World Series and one of Asia-Pacific trail running's most prestigious events — he has established himself as a dominant force on the international ultra circuit over more than a decade of elite competition. Based in Wanaka on New Zealand's South Island, Hawker trains in some of the finest mountain terrain in the world — the Southern Alps, the peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park, and the extraordinary trail networks of the Otago and Southland high country — and has competed at major international races in Europe and North America against the world's best.
