Scilla Tonetti is an Italian female trail and mountain runner who has competed at some of the most challenging ultra-distance mountain events in the world. The Italian alpine trail running scene is exceptional in its ambition and difficulty — anchored by events like the Tor des Géants (a 330km continuous loop through the Aosta Valley with over 24,000m of cumulative elevation gain, one of the most extreme endurance events in existence), the Lavaredo Ultra Trail in the Dolomites, and the dense network of mountain races across the Italian Alps and the peaks of the Gran Paradiso and Monte Rosa massifs.
