Samwel Kiprotich is a Kenyan trail and mountain runner competing for Salomon Milimani Runners, the Kenya-based team that has helped grow the country's international trail presence. He is a regular on the Golden Trail World Series circuit, consistently placing inside the top 10 at GTWS races against the world's best. At the 2025 Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail (GTWS) he finished second, and at the Great Wall of China race that same season he placed third, demonstrating his ability across very different terrain profiles. Kiprotich is part of a new wave of Kenyan runners who have transitioned from road and cross-country into technical mountain and trail disciplines with remarkable speed. His consistent performances across the GTWS have steadily built his UTMB Index to elite levels.
