About

Sabrina Verjee is a British veterinary surgeon, ultra-endurance runner, and author who studied at Cambridge, holds a postgraduate certificate in emergency medicine and surgery, and works at a practice in Carnforth, Lancashire while training in the Cumbrian fells. She is best known for two defining feats of mountain endurance: winning the Tor des Géants 330km in 2022 in a women's course record of 80:19 — becoming the first woman to break 85 hours and finishing fifth overall — and completing all 214 Wainwright summits of the Lake District in 5 days, 23 hours, and 49 minutes, the fastest time by any athlete, male or female, by more than six hours. She also set the women's record on the Pennine Way in 2020 (3 days, 2 hours, 28 minutes) and returned to Tor des Géants in 2024 to finish second. A deeply versatile ultra-endurance performer who splits her competitive focus between major mountain races and iconic British FKT routes, Verjee is one of the most admired figures in British long-distance running.
