Richard La Cock is a South African-born ultrarunner based in the United Kingdom who has established himself as a durable competitor on the Centurion Running circuit and the broader British ultramarathon scene. Known for his composure in hot conditions — a characteristic that traces back to his South African roots — he won the 2014 North Downs Way 50 mile in 7:05, a strong performance given the technical and sandy early sections of the course, and was recognised as a benchmark UK-based ultrarunner of that era. Beyond the NDW50 he has competed at the South Downs 100 mile, other Centurion events, and trail races on other continents including a sixth-place finish at an ultra-trail event in Lesotho. A long-standing presence on the British ultra calendar, he has competed consistently over more than a decade at distances from 50 miles to 100 miles.
