About
Rebecca Rick is an American Sports Dietitian, Assistant Professor, and ultrarunner based in Utah who ran her first half-marathon at age eleven and her first full marathon at seventeen — early signs of a drive toward long-distance endurance that she later channelled into competitive cycling before returning to running around 2014. She holds a Master of Science in Sports Nutrition from the University of Utah, where she subsequently joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor in the Nutrition and Integrative Physiology Department, and also operates The Nutrition Mechanic, a virtual consultancy serving athletes from first-time ultra-seekers to Olympic competitors. Her professional client list has included US Ski and Snowboard Association and US Speedskating. On the trails, she has produced podium results at major ultra events — including second female and 21st overall at the BEAR 100 in 2020 — and in October 2025 held the women's lead at the Moab 240 Mile race three days into competition. Known as much for her evidence-based approach to fuelling ultra-distance efforts as for her competitive results, she is a trusted voice on nutrition and performance in the endurance sport community.
