Peter Fraňo is Slovakia's most successful active trail and ultrarunner, a versatile athlete who came up through ski mountaineering before finding his niche in competitive trail running at distances from 50K to 100 miles. Born in 1996 in Brezno, Slovakia, he holds a degree in physical education and coaching and has never worked with a running coach, developing through self-directed training and racing instinct. A Scarpa and Precision Fuel & Hydration athlete, he has posted exceptional results at the highest levels of the sport: a bronze medal at the 2023 Trail World Championships 80K, 2nd at CCC by UTMB in 2024, victory at Transvulcania Ultramarathon in 2025, and a win at Grampians Peaks Trail 100M in 2025. His patience and tactical intelligence make him one of the most underrated athletes in the global ultra-trail field.
