Nick Clark

Nick Clark is a British-born ultrarunner who moved to the United States and became one of Colorado's most consistent and admired competitors, achieving top-three finishes at the Western States 100 in back-to-back years. Born and raised in Canterbury, England, he moved to the United States with his wife Dana in 2001 and eventually settled in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2006, where the trails of Horsetooth Mountain Park and Lory State Park became the training ground for thousands of miles of preparation. A former rugby player who came to distance running as an adult, Clark worked as a web editor while building a competitive profile that brought him to the podium at some of North America's most demanding ultra-distance events. He placed third at the Western States 100 in both 2011 (15:50:23) and 2012 (15:44:09), and was ranked among the top seven male ultrarunners in the United States by UltraRunning Magazine for 2013. That year he completed the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning — Western States, Vermont 100, Leadville Trail 100, and the Wasatch Front 100, all in a single summer — placing in the top six in each of the four races and winning the Wasatch Front 100 for the second consecutive year. In 2012 he co-founded Gnar Runners with Pete Stevenson and launched the Quad Rock 50 Mile in Fort Collins, demonstrating a commitment to developing the trail running community as well as competing within it.
