About
Qi Min — known in Western ultrarunning circles as Qi Min — is a Yunnan-province trail runner who built his athletic foundation as an elite road marathoner with a personal best of 2:16 before transitioning to the mountains. A Salomon team athlete, he announced himself internationally with a dominant victory at the 2018 Vibram Hong Kong 100km, then followed with a stunning second place at the 2018 CCC at UTMB, finishing only narrowly behind the winner and reaching a peak ITRA world ranking of second. At his competitive height he was among the most complete mountain runners in Asia, combining road-level speed with technical alpine competence. He also holds the supported FKT on Colorado's Nolan's 14 route, approximately 100 miles across 14 fourteeners.
