About
Mike Foote is an American ultrarunner, mountain athlete, and coach based in Missoula, Montana. A former Nordic skier, he transitioned into trail and mountain running and developed into one of the most respected figures in North American ultrarunning, known for his technical skill, high-altitude ability, and capacity to perform consistently at the sport's highest level. He is best known for his performances at the Hardrock 100, the demanding 100-mile loop through the San Juan Mountains of Colorado with more than 33,000 feet of elevation change, where he has won and achieved multiple podium finishes across a career spanning well over a decade. Beyond racing, Foote has pursued fastpacking traverses in Glacier National Park and other remote mountain ranges, earning a reputation as one of the most adventurous and well-rounded mountain athletes in the United States. A longtime ambassador for Scott Running and a certified ultrarunning coach, he is known as a thoughtful voice in the sport — combining athletic achievement with coaching expertise and a genuine love for the mountains.
