About
Mika Thewes is an American multi-day ultra runner from Arvada, Colorado, originally from Royal Oak, Michigan, who made her 200-mile debut in 2015 at the Bigfoot 200 at age 24 and has since built one of the most prolific résumés in the sport at that distance, with 16 finishes in races of 200 miles or longer. A Janji Field Team athlete, she has won the Bigfoot 200 and Tahoe 200 twice each, and is a consistent podium finisher at the Cocodona 250, Moab 240, Divide 200, and the Tor de Géants. At the 2024 Cocodona 250 she sustained a fall requiring medical attention mid-race but re-entered the field and finished third in 79:30 — a display of determination she has cited as among the most meaningful in her career. With 16 finishes across some of the hardest 200-plus mile races in the world, Thewes is one of the defining figures at that distance.
