About
Meredith June Edwards is an American professional ultra runner and ski mountaineer born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, now based in the Silverton and Durango area of Colorado. She began skiing and downhill racing at age five and took up running at 12, playing hockey before devoting herself fully to mountain sports. A true multi-discipline mountain athlete, she has represented the USA at two World Championships and World Cups in ski mountaineering (skimo) while simultaneously building a strong résumé in ultrarunning. Her notable trail results include winning the Ultra Trail Mt. Siguniang in China (2017), placing second at UTMB Oman 130K (2018), second in the Trace des Ducs de Savoie (France, 2016), a TDS podium, and a win at the Midstate Massive Ultra Trail 50 Miler. Known as 'Mere June' (and 'Night Mere') to friends in the mountain community, she attempted a Fastest Known Time on Denali in 2023. She is a Vibram-sponsored athlete and part of the Ultra X pro team, bringing an explorer's sensibility to everything she races.
