Matthias Dippacher (born February 20, 1977, in Oy-Mittelberg in the Oberallgäu region of Bavaria, Germany) is one of Germany's most decorated ultra trail runners. Coming to trail running via road running and triathlon in the 1990s, he established himself internationally by winning bronze at the 2009 Trail World Championships. He dominated the Traversée du Trail Verbier Saint-Bernard in 2010 by more than 20 minutes and claimed his first 100km+ ultra title with the Swiss Irontrail T141 in 2013. Career highlights also include 2nd-place finishes at the Eiger Ultra Trail and Zugspitz Ultratrail, and 3rd at the Großglockner Ultra Trail. A Team Dynafit athlete, he has remained competitive into the 2020s, placing 3rd at the Lake Zurich 100 Endurance Run in 2023. With an ITRA Performance Index of 811, he is still ranked among Germany's best trail runners.
