About

Mathilde Sagnes (born September 29, 1995, in Montauban, France) is a versatile French trail and mountain runner competing for Hoka. A former elite track athlete who won the French junior championship for the 10,000m in 2015 (36:34.83), she transitioned to trail and mountain racing with immediate success, swiftly becoming one of France's top female performers. In 2021 she won the French Long Trail national championship, and in 2022 she won the French Short Trail championship at Salers in dominant fashion — leading from start to finish — and earned bronze at the European Trail Running Championships. She has represented France at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships (Short Trail, 2022), and her UTMB Index of 766 places her in the top four French women. Known for her powerful ascending ability and track-honed finishing speed, she competes across a wide range of trail and mountain distances.
