About
Marion Delespierre (born July 7, 1987, in Roubaix) is a French sports medicine doctor, trail runner, and the 2023 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships Long Trail champion. Originally from Lille, she moved to Lyon in 2013 to complete her medical studies, later becoming a sports medicine doctor at the Sauvegarde Clinic and Gerland sports medicine centre. She began running in 2013 and transitioned seriously into trail from 2018, winning the Maxi-Race du Lac d'Annecy in 2019 by more than twenty minutes in her breakthrough result, and placing 2nd at the Diagonale des Fous that same year. In 2021 she placed 4th at UTMB Mont-Blanc. Her defining achievement came at the 2023 WMTRC in Innsbruck, Austria, where she won the women's Long Trail title over 86.9km (11:22:31), with France also taking team gold. She returned as defending champion to the 2025 Trail World Championships Long Trail. Sponsored by ON Running, she balances elite international competition with her medical career.
