Madison Liechty

Madison Liechty is an American ultrarunner from Montana who competed in cross country and track and field at Montana State University after graduating from Sentinel High School in 2016. A Big Sky Conference All-Academic honouree as a Bobcat, she specialised in steeplechase and distance events during her collegiate career before transitioning to trail and ultra running. Her breakthrough at the ultra distance came at the 2025 Black Canyon 100k by UTMB — one of the most competitive 100km events on the American UTMB World Series circuit, held on the desert and canyon trails of the Sonoran Desert outside Phoenix — where she finished second in the women's race in 9:11:02. She has since competed at events including the Canyons by UTMB 100k and the Tarawera Ultra-Trail by UTMB in New Zealand, continuing to build her UTMB World Series résumé at the 100km distance.
