Luzia Buehler is a Swiss ultrarunner and social worker from Chur who has built one of the most consistent international ultra résumés of any Swiss woman across a decade of competition. She grew up with a deep love for the mountains and discovered trail running around age 20, progressing steadily through regional races to the world's top ultras. Her Western States 100 trajectory captures the arc precisely: 27th in 2016, 11th in 2019, and fourth in 2022 in 18:08 — an improvement built on patience, intelligent racing, and an extraordinary ability to perform at altitude. She finished fifth at UTMB in 2021 and second at the MIUT Madeira Island Ultra-Trail in 2023, while also winning the Lake Zurich 100k and Georgia Death Race — a range that spans European mountain races to American trail classics.
