About

Luke Ashton is a British ultramarathon runner, blogger, and sports communicator who came to ultra distances through trail marathons in 2012-2013, recording podium finishes from his earliest events and showing rapid progression up through longer distances. His signature result came in April 2014 at the Viking Way Ultra — a non-stop 147-mile race from the Humber Bridge to Oakham through the heavy clay, flooded paths, and miles of energy-sapping mud that characterise the English East Midlands countryside, with a strict 40-hour cut-off — which he completed in 33 hours 29 minutes to win outright. He also placed second in his debut 100-mile race. He has documented his racing and outdoor life on his blog at lukeashton.blogspot.com and has worked in sport communications through Revved Up Communications.
