About
Yan Long-Fei is a Chinese trail runner from the mainland who emerged as one of China's finest long-course mountain specialists in the mid-2010s as part of Salomon's Chinese team. His breakthrough came in January 2015 when he won the Hong Kong 100 Ultra Marathon — Asia's most prestigious 100km trail race — in 9 hours and 52 minutes, setting a new course record and announcing mainland Chinese mountain running to a global audience. He returned the following year to finish runner-up at HK100, and defended his MSIG HK50 title to win back-to-back editions of the 50km race. He was also recognised as the best mountain runner at the Linhai mountain running event in 2015. Yan Long-Fei was among the first wave of mainland Chinese runners to win at the highest level of international trail racing, and his HK100 victory helped catalyse the explosion of trail running across China that followed in the subsequent decade.
