About

Landie Greyling is a South African trail runner from Stellenbosch who spent fifteen years as the dominant force in South African trail running and a consistent international competitor before retiring from professional competition in October 2025. Married to fellow ultrarunner Christiaan Greyling — the pair wed on a trail in 2012 — she won every major South African trail race on record: the Otter, Skyrun 100km, Ultra Trail Cape Town 100km, Table Mountain Challenge, and African X. Internationally she claimed the Buffalo Stampede Ultra in Australia, the Grand Raid Pyrenees in France, the Riano Trail Run in Spain, the Dodo Trail in Mauritius, the Azores Trail, and the prestigious TransAlps 8-day European stage race. She placed 2nd at the Mont Blanc Marathon and 9th at the IAU World Ultra Trail Championships. In the final years of her trail career she transitioned to road running, finishing 16th in her debut Comrades Marathon and winning the Balwin Sport Peninsula Marathon in Cape Town. Her final professional race was the Cape Town Trail Marathon in October 2025, after which she announced a return to her professional background as a chartered accountant and tax consultant.
