About
Lambert Santelli is a French trail runner and restaurateur from Lavatoghju, a small village in the Balagne region of northern Corsica, who came to running late — overweight and unsporty through his teens — before becoming the island's most celebrated ultra athlete. He has won the Ultra Trail di Corsica three times (2017, 2019, 2023) and on June 26, 2021, set a new record on the mythical GR20 — the 200km mountain spine of Corsica — in 30 hours and 25 minutes, beating François D'Haène's previous mark by 41 minutes. In 2023 he stepped onto the international stage with his dominant victory at the MIUT Madeira Island Ultra-Trail 115km in 14:01:26, one of the UTMB World Series Major races. He works in the family restaurant between competitions, and the deep roots he maintains in his Corsican village give him a grounded identity that contrasts with the nomadic culture of elite European trail running.
