About
Laetitia Pibis is a French trail runner and mountain athlete who, after her company relocated her from southern France to Linz, Austria around 2013, threw herself into the alpine trail racing scene surrounding her new home and never looked back. A lifelong sportswoman with a background spanning ice skating, aikido, tennis, gymnastics, and rugby, she discovered trail running in 2011 during a spontaneous entry in a Caribbean stage race — her first test was a 10-kilometre mountain run with 1,000 metres of elevation gain at Feuerkogel that left her instantly hooked. Racing under Austrian organisation while retaining her French affiliation, she has built a résumé spanning 32 UTMB-indexed events since 2012, primarily across alpine terrain in Austria, France, and Italy. Highlights include victory at the Streif Vertical Up in 2013, the Pitz Alpine Glacier Trail in 2017, a category win at the Korea 50K in 2018, and podiums at the Madeira Ultra Trail, Zugspitz Ultratrail, and Ultra Tour Monte Rosa. Her UTMB Index best of 636 reflects sustained competitive performance across the mid-distance mountain trail spectrum over more than a decade of racing in the Alps.
