About
Kimino Miyazaki is a Japanese trail runner, coach, and exercise physiologist who began running at age four and competed in track and field until 22, when she started climbing mountains while studying exercise physiology at university and discovered her true athletic home in the high terrain. She transitioned to mountain trail running in 2014 and has built a distinctive training programme at Miura Base Camp, a high-altitude hypoxic training facility, that she uses for both athlete coaching and her own race preparation. After finishing second at the 2023 Tarawera Ultra-Trail by UTMB TMiler 100 Miles and posting a DNF in 2024, she overhauled her approach with a greater emphasis on endurance-specific volume and returned to Tarawera in 2025 to win in 17:40:37 — the emotional culmination of a multi-year pursuit of that specific race. A HOKA-sponsored athlete who has also won the Istria 100 Mile, she is one of Japan's most prominent international mountain ultra performers.
