About

Dr. Kaz Williams is a British ultrarunner, Performance Psychologist, and running coach who combines elite-level athletic achievement with a career built around unlocking the human potential to endure. Holding a PhD in Human Behaviour and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology, she founded Mettle — a coaching platform dedicated to empowering runners through evidence-based mental skills training, race-day focus strategies, and bespoke programming for athletes of all abilities. Her ultrarunning career spans from 2010 to 2023 and includes some of the most demanding events in the sport: she won the Ouray 100 Mile Endurance Run in Colorado in 2019, placed 3rd female at the Tor des Géants 119km in 2019, achieved 2nd at Moab 240, 3rd at the Tahoe 200, and completed one loop of the Barkley Marathons — a feat that places her among a tiny global cohort. She also completed the Last Annual Vol State 500K, a 314-mile self-supported race across Tennessee. A pivotal moment in her running career came when she quit an ultramarathon not from physical failure but from doubt — an experience that crystallised her mission to help others build the mental resilience to stay in it.
