Katarzyna Solińska is a Polish trail and mountain ultrarunner who in 2023 made history as the first Polish athlete — man or woman — to finish in the top ten at UTMB Mont-Blanc, crossing in sixth place in one of the deepest international women's fields in the event's history. Born around 1990, she joined her first athletics club at age twelve and developed early promise in short and middle-distance events before a decade away from organised racing. Returning to running in 2016 — first on roads, then progressively into mountain and ultra formats — she built an international résumé of remarkable range: multiple Polish champion in both Ultra Mountain Running and Ultra Skyrunning, winner of Transgrancanaria 42km in Spain, winner of the Monte Rosa Sky Marathon in Italy, podium finisher at the Lavaredo Ultra Trail, and winner of Trail Verbier X-Alpine in 2024. A qualified lawyer by training, she co-founded Trail Is Our Way with her partner Maciek Dombrowski — a coaching and trail running company focused on long-term athlete development, with over 80% of clients being women. Based in Szklarska Poręba in the Polish Karkonosze mountains and sponsored by On Running, Solińska represents a new generation of Polish mountain running excellence.
