Jonathan Camilo Castillo Sáenz is a Colombian mountain runner who has established himself as one of South America's finest competitors on both the regional and world stage. He holds two South American mountain running titles and is known within Colombia as el rey de las montañas (the king of the mountains), repeatedly winning the high-profile Cordillera Trail. At the 2025 World Mountain and Trail Running Championships he placed 9th in the classic 14K race and 7th in the vertical kilometer — performances that put him firmly in the global elite tier. He also competes at the track level in the 5,000 m and 10,000 m. Still in his mid-20s, Castillo is poised for further breakthroughs as Colombia continues to grow its international trail and mountain running programme.
