About
Jo Brischetto is an Australian trail runner, community builder, and entrepreneur from Woodford in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, best known as co-founder of Summit Sisters — a grassroots organisation established in 2013 alongside Salomon athlete Gretel Fortmann to increase women's participation in trail running and foster a healthier relationship with the outdoors. Summit Sisters grew rapidly to hundreds of members across the Blue Mountains and became a registered not-for-profit. Her leadership was recognised with the Blue Mountains Sportsperson of the Year award for her commitment to developing the next generation of trail runners. As a competitor she placed fifth woman at the Six Foot Track Marathon (45km, 4:24) and led the first all-female team to finish the Oxfam Trailwalker 100km Victoria, placing second overall in the mixed team competition. She also served as manager at the Blue Mountains Running Co. store and has been among the most influential advocates for women in Australian trail running.
