About

Jessi Morton-Langehaug is one of North America's most compelling ultra-distance running stories — a ranch-raised Albertan who battled undiagnosed Lyme disease for a decade, spent summers in Kerala studying meditation and Ayurveda as part of her recovery, and then channeled that hard-won resilience into becoming one of the toughest women in 200-mile racing. A high school chemistry and yoga teacher based in Sandy, Utah, she won the Bighorn 100 in 2019 and in October 2020 won the Moab 240 women's race in 80 hours, 9 minutes and 42 seconds — finishing three hours ahead of the second-place woman in a performance that drew national media attention. She completed the inaugural Cocodona 250 in 2021 and has become an articulate advocate for resilience and recovery, writing about her journey from diagnosis to podium in her book Defying the Odds. She trains in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah and has been supported by Kogalla lighting and other outdoor brands.
