About
Jeremy Ritcey is a Canadian trail runner who built his competitive career in Hong Kong, becoming one of the most recognised figures on the trail circuit of Southeast Asia. A Salomon-sponsored athlete and longtime Hong Kong resident, he ran Salomon's Bonaqua team at the Oxfam Trailwalker and was closely associated with the Vibram Hong Kong 100k in its earliest years — finishing second at the 2011 inaugural edition and fourth in 2012 as fastest local runner. He also placed second at the Canadian Death Race 125km and was a multiple winner of the Swire King of the Hills race series, claiming the overall King of the Hills title. After years as a primary school teacher, he stepped away from the classroom to open Lantau Base Camp — Hong Kong's first dedicated trail running specialist store — and has since organised popular trail events across Hong Kong for more than a decade. His UTMB Index of 676 reflects a career spanning technical mountain terrain from 50K to ultra. He has more recently completed the HK100 Flex in 12:49 and continues to race and direct events in Hong Kong.
