About
Jazmine Lowther is a Canadian trail runner, professional agrologist, and Arc'teryx athlete from Nelson, British Columbia — a small ski town in the Kootenays — who spent her twenties as a field biologist specialising in plant ecology, land rehabilitation, and invasive species management before ultrarunning took over. She was nicknamed 'The Gazelle' as a school cross-country runner and spent years climbing routes in the Valhallas and Bugaboos of BC before entering a local 50km race on minimal training and finishing third overall, which sparked her curiosity about the distance. In 2022 she won the Canyons by UTMB 100k with a course record on her very first attempt at that distance, followed by fourth at the CCC by UTMB; in 2023 she finished second at Transgrancanaria Classic 128k; and in 2024 she won the Ultra-Trail Cape Town 100k. Now based in Canmore, Alberta, she remains active in environmental advocacy, organising trail clean-ups and working with the local nonprofit Neighbours United on climate and conservation policy in the Kootenay Range.
