Hugo Deck is a French trail runner from the Var region who signed with Adidas TERREX at 22 and at 23 became the youngest winner of the Ultra-Trail Cape Town 100k, taking the 2024 title in 10:31:02. He had announced himself on the international stage even earlier — finishing fifth at the CCC by UTMB at just 21, an exceptional result for a debut at that level — before winning the Nice by UTMB 165km in 2022 and becoming Vice-French Trail Champion and European team champion in 2024. A French champion of the vertical kilometre format and winner of the Ultra Nice Côte d'Azur, he is now based in Geneva and has spoken about how trail running imposed a discipline and rigour on his life that has shaped him beyond sport. He represents a new generation of French mountain runners who are reaching world-class results at an unusually young age.
