About
Henrik Westerlin is a Danish ultrarunner born on December 1, 1975 who is based in Switzerland and has built one of the most diverse résumés in Nordic ultra-distance running across trail, road, and track formats. A 24-hour national team runner for Denmark, he has competed across everything from 24-hour track events to European mountain races, demonstrating unusual versatility across the full spectrum of ultra-endurance disciplines. His most notable results include sixth place at Spartathlon 2015 in 26:19 — the gruelling 246km fixed-time race from Athens to Sparta regarded as one of the world's most demanding point-to-point ultras — winning the Lake Zuri 100km in Switzerland, and competing in events including the Transgrancanaria and the Trail 100 Andorra by UTMB. Now racing in the 45-49 age category, he placed ninth overall at the Engadin Ultra Trail 2025 on his home Swiss terrain. He has covered more than 5,600 kilometres across over 60 competitive ultra events and is one of the most experienced Danish ultrarunners on the European circuit.
