About
Gediminas Grinius is a Lithuanian ultrarunner, military analyst, and coaching founder from Ukmergė who came to trail running as recovery from post-traumatic stress disorder after serving two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan as a military threat analyst — monitoring more than 300 combat engagements with insurgents during his deployments. Running became his therapy for reconnecting body and mind after returning home damaged from war, and he quickly discovered a rare talent for mountain endurance performance. He joined Vibram's team in 2016 and that same year won the Ultra-Trail World Tour overall championship — the sport's most prestigious season-long prize — then led the UTWT overall rankings again in 2017. He continues to work full-time as an analyst in the Lithuanian military while operating the Trail Running Factory coaching company, making him one of the sport's most compelling examples of elite performance sustained alongside demanding professional life.
