About

Finlay Wild is Scotland’s most iconic fell and mountain runner, a Fort William GP whose 12 victories at the Ben Nevis Race constitute one of the most remarkable streaks in British running history. Born September 8, 1984, in Thurso in the Scottish Highlands, he moved to Fort William at age eight — a town at the very foot of Ben Nevis — and grew up in a family of runners and climbers; his father worked as a mountain guide. He studied medicine at the University of Aberdeen and now works as a local GP while continuing to compete and inspire. Beyond his Ben Nevis dominance, he holds the record on the Cuillin Ridge Traverse, was the first person to run the Isle of Jura Fell Race in under three hours (2:58:09 in 2022), has twice been British Fell Running Champion, and was British Ski Mountaineering Champion in 2016.
