Eszter Csillag is a Hungarian ultrarunner and art historian who lives in Hong Kong, where she is also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and mother of two. She placed 5th at UTMB Mont-Blanc in 2022 on her first-ever 100-mile attempt, then backed it up with back-to-back third-place finishes at Western States 100 in 2023 and 2024 — making her the fourth fastest woman in the race's history. A late starter to trail running (she began in 2016 after moving to Hong Kong), Csillag is one of the sport's most inspiring stories.
