Emma Jane Pooley (born 3 October 1982 in Wandsworth, London) is a British-Swiss multi-sport endurance athlete who graduated from Cambridge University with a first-class degree in engineering and became one of Britain's greatest professional cyclists before transitioning to trail running, duathlon, and ultra endurance events. At the 2008 Beijing Olympics she won the silver medal in the women's road time trial, and in 2010 she became UCI Road World Time Trial Champion. She retired from professional cycling after the 2014 Commonwealth Games and excelled as a four-time World Long-Distance Duathlon Champion. She represents Switzerland in trail running at the World Trail Running Championships. In 2020 she broke the women's Everesting cycling record. Living in Switzerland, she is also the author of the cookbook Oat to Joy, aimed at endurance athletes.
