About
Eli Hemming is an American trail runner from Kremmling, Colorado, who was a former #1-ranked US triathlete and World Cup podium finisher for Team USA before transitioning to trail running in 2021. His cross-disciplinary background — the aerobic power and race execution of elite triathlon combined with the mountain instincts of a Colorado native — translated immediately to trail success. In 2024 he became the first American ever to win the OCC at the UTMB World Series Finals in Chamonix, crossing the line in 5:11:48. The same year he won five of eight races, including the Black Canyon 60km, Big Alta 50km, Desert Rats by UTMB 21km, and Canyons by UTMB 50km. He had previously finished 5th in the 2022 Golden Trail World Series and second at the Marathon du Mont-Blanc. Off the trail, Hemming co-owns Aerobic Monsters, an online coaching business he runs with his wife Tabor — also a professional trail runner — and works on her family’s fifth-generation cattle ranch in Colorado. He represents Adidas TERREX. One of the most naturally talented and tactically sophisticated runners on the US circuit, Hemming’s combination of speed, mountain capability, and racing intelligence has firmly placed him in the upper tier of elite trail running.
