About

Didrik Hermansen is a Norwegian trail and ultrarunner born on 24 March 1980 who came to the sport after years competing in handball at a high domestic level, transitioning to ultra trail in the late 2000s. Based in Oslo and training on the technical trails of the surrounding forest, he is known for a measured, controlled racing style well suited to long mountain courses. His international breakthrough came in 2015 with victory at The North Face Lavaredo Ultra Trail, which he followed with the 2016 Transgrancanaria Classic title and a runner-up finish at the 2016 Western States 100. A versatile competitor capable of racing from 50K to 100 miles, he has remained a consistent presence at UTMB World Series and Golden Trail World Series events throughout his career and races for the ASICS Trail team.
