About
David Sinclair is an American trail runner and ski mountaineer born in 1992 who grew up in Vermont and attended Dartmouth College as a collegiate cross-country skier, later becoming one of the United States’ most accomplished ultra trail and sky runners while simultaneously pioneering competitive ski mountaineering for Team USA. Based near Lake Tahoe, he discovered ski mountaineering after college and has represented the US at the World Ski Mountaineering Championships while building a parallel trail running career of exceptional depth. He represented Team USA at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2025. In 2024 he broke the course records at both Speedgoat 50k and JFK 50 Mile, and was named the 3rd ranked ultrarunner in North America. In 2025 he finished second at CCC-UTMB, Broken Arrow Skyrace 46k, and JFK 50 Mile, and was named #10 UltraRunner of the Year. In 2026 he set a new course record at Transvulcania Ultramarathon. A dual-sport mountain athlete in the mould of Rémi Bonnet, Sinclair’s combination of Nordic skiing, trail running, and ski mountaineering makes his career one of the sport’s most compelling.
