About

Cody Poskin is an American ultrarunner from Cedar Hill in the St. Louis, Missouri area — born around 2001, a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) — who in the space of two years established himself as one of the most exciting young multi-day ultra runners in the world. He came to running from soccer and cross country, qualified for the Boston Marathon by winning a race he entered on impulse in Arkansas, then progressed through major city marathons before pivoting to trail ultra formats. He turned professional in 2025 after winning the USATF 100 Mile Trail Championships at the Jackpot 100 in Henderson, Nevada, earning a Mount to Coast sponsorship and announcing his arrival in the elite field. He placed seventh at the 2025 Cocodona 250, the 250-mile point-to-point desert and mountain traverse of Arizona. His most extraordinary performance came at the Ultra Gobi 400K in China's Gobi Desert, where he won in 64 hours 49 minutes 32 seconds — shattering the course record by more than four hours in one of the world's most demanding desert ultras. In 2026 he returned to the Cocodona 250 and placed third. Known for his colourful outfits, engaging social media presence, and a crew guide he titled 'the Book of Moron,' Poskin rapidly built a devoted following across the trail running community.
