About
Born 5 February 1989 in Reims, Bannwarth lives in Huningue in Alsace and runs 20 kilometres each way to work along the Alsace canal as daily training. A former national-level fencer as a teenager, she holds an engineering degree and entered her first ultra only in August 2017 — the UT4M 160km, finishing 5th among women — before accumulating 20 victories in the following four years. She won the Montane Spine Race in both 2023 and 2024, becoming the first woman to win consecutive editions of the 431km midwinter Pennine Way race. She set the French women's 24-hour track record at 228.42km in Couvet (April 2021) and the French women's Backyard Ultra record at 61 loops (June 2023). At TDG 2024 she placed 3rd. A tendinitis injury sidelined her for approximately 10 months during 2025.
