About
Chiaki Fjelddahl is a Japanese-born trail runner based in Hong Kong who has been competing at the top of the Asian and international ultra trail circuit for over 25 years, making her one of the most experienced figures in the sport's Asia-Pacific history. She came to wider attention within the competitive Asian trail running scene with a runner-up finish at the 2013 Vibram Hong Kong 100 — the 100 km, 5,000m+ race through the New Territories that has grown into one of Asia's most prestigious ultra trail events and a fixture on the global calendar — finishing in 13:04 behind winner Claire Price. Racing across a career that stretches from the late 1990s and 2000s through to the present, she now competes in the ITRA women's F55–59 age category and continues to race. The Fjelddahl name has become established in trail running: her daughter Hanah Fjelddahl has emerged as an active trail runner in her own right, marking a generational legacy across the sport.
