About

Cécile Lefebvre is a French trail runner and outdoor professional who has been running trails for more than 20 years alongside a broad range of mountain and outdoor pursuits. Academically trained as an agricultural engineer specialising in local development, she went on to found and manage a consulting firm focused specifically on trail running and outdoor activities, channelling her professional expertise directly into the sport she has competed in for two decades. As an athlete she races under the banner of Team Trace de Trail — one of France's leading trail running clubs — competing primarily in events from 30 to 60 km with mountain characteristics, a format she describes as best suited to her strengths. Her most memorable competitive result is the OCC — the 56 km, 3,500m-gain UTMB World Series race through the Chamonix valley and across the Swiss and Italian Alps — which she completed in 7:53:14 in 2015. She describes the finish in the streets of Chamonix as one of her most fulfilling athletic experiences: a race she managed well from start to finish, savoured throughout, and completed with a full sense of achievement. Her dual career as a practitioner, consultant, and competitor makes her one of trail running's most rounded voices on the intersection of sport and professional life in the mountains.
