About
Brittany Peterson is an American trail runner, occupational therapist, and instructor at Idaho State University's Occupational Therapy Assistant programme in Pocatello who grew up on the edge of Jay Cooke State Park in northern Minnesota and built one of the most complete résumés in American ultra running. A Nike-sponsored athlete and former USATF 50 Mile Road National Champion (2019), she set the women's course record at the Black Canyon 100k in 2021 and finished second at Western States 100 that year in the fourth-fastest women's time in the race's history. In June 2020 she and partner Cody Lind set the Fastest Known Time on Minnesota's 300-mile Superior Hiking Trail in 4 days, 9 hours, and 27 minutes, accumulating nearly 40,000 feet of elevation gain across the long trail of her home state. She continues to balance university teaching, running coaching, and competing at the elite level.
