About
Brandon Stapanowich is an American trail runner and pediatric physical therapist from Manitou Springs, Colorado who has built a competitive résumé across the most demanding 100-mile mountain ultras in the American West while simultaneously leading Achilles Pikes Peak — a running programme for athletes with disabilities based in the shadow of Pikes Peak. He studied exercise science in college before pursuing physical therapy, drawn to the ability to offer physical interventions that help patients move better, and brings the same attention to process and recovery to his own training and racing. Race results include top-10 finishes at Leadville Trail 100, Hardrock 100, and H.U.R.T. 100, podium finishes at the 2020 H.U.R.T. 100 Mile and 2023 High Lonesome 100, and 6th at the 2015 Hardrock 100. Beyond timed races, he holds the self-supported fastest known time on the 485-mile Colorado Trail (Durango to Denver through the Colorado high country) and set the supported FKT on the 1,175-mile Mountains-To-Sea Trail in North Carolina — completing it in 23 days, 13 hours, and 28 minutes in 2022 with his wife and then-11-month-old son Felix meeting him every 10–20 miles for resupply across multiple US states.
